Ahead of next week’s 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Cadillac has taken the wraps off its highly anticipated CTS-V Coupe. The Detroit show marks the second consecutive auto show to feature a new version of the popular CTS, following the CTS Coupe’s debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Based largely on the CTS Coupe that debuted last December at the LA show, the performance V model adds many of the design cues found on the CTS-V Sedan, including wire mesh grilles, power dome hood, wider tires and large brake calipers. To the rear of the CTS-V Coupe are large, center-mount exhaust outlets.
Like its four-door counterpart, the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe packs GM’s fantastic 6.2L supercharged LSA V8 motor. The CTS-V Coupe is rated at 556 horsepower and 551 lb-ft of torque and can be fitted with six-speed automatic or manual transmissions. To keep that power in check, the CTS-V Coupe is also equipped with GM’s Magnetic Ride Control and racing-bred Brembo brakes.
Cadillac failed to announce pricing for the 2011 CTS-V Coupe, but we expect to hear more on that closer to the two-doors summer production date. Check back for more details when Leftlane’s live coverage of the 2010 Detroit Auto Show kicks off next Monday.
